Vice Lord Nation: Profile
History
The Vice Lords were formed in the late 1950’s in the Illinois Training School for Boys located in St. Charles, Illinois. After several members of the Vice Lords were released from the school at the end of their sentences, they relocated to the neighborhood of Lawndale in Chicago. They are the oldest and second largest street gang in Chicago. The membership is predominantly African American. Vice Lord gangs include Unknown Vice Lords, Four Corner Hustlers, Undertaker Vice Lords, Cicero Mafia Insane Vice Lords, Traveling Vice Lords, Executioners, Central Insane Vice Lords and Conservative Vice Lords.
Today, Vice Lords are spread throughout Chicago and its suburbs as well as many Midwestern states. The Vice Lords are extremely active in narcotics trafficking and frequently use violence to maintain their business. Vice Lords are members of the People Nation.
Development
During the 1990’s, Vice Lords began spreading their networks through migration and incarceration. The Vice Lords recruited in East Coast states such as Georgia and Massachusetts.
